I’ve been here in the
Kingdom (Saudi Arabia) for almost five years already and this is my first time
to lost anything. Its been so much hurt because I lost the important documents
you must have in this foreign country, the resident ID. Without this ID you
cannot transact anything in government or private agency. It’s a very important
thing you must have and gonna carry it always anywhere you go.
First we must know what is and iqama/resident ID.
An iqama is a
residence permit issued to those expatriates who arrive in Saudi Arabia on an
employment visa. The Iqama is valid for a period of 1-2 years. This is an
essential document and may be requested at banks, hospitals, and several other
places. It provides an expatriate with legal residence permit for Saudi Arabia,
for the period of its validity.
It must be noted that Saudi Embassies across the world deal only
with registered visa agents and
not directly with individuals. The authorized visa agency can submit the visa
application on behalf of individuals. Therefore, it is imperative to go through
a registered agent at the time of processing your visa. Further, it is also
important to be aware that the visa process may be both time consuming and
tedious. Therefore, prospective employees must be patient and thorough with
their paperwork.
Based on our
experience with various registered visa agencies, we have identified few
agencies which have better turnaround time than others. ICEAT would
recommend one such agency to you. You will need to contact the agency as early
as possible in order to process your visa.
A checklist
provided in the following pages will provide you with a list of required
documents that will help you in procuring the relevant documents for the visa
application.
After I lost my iqama ive been restless everytime. Ive
walking anywhere I go on the previous day and hoping everytime that gonna found
it or someone gonna call to return it. By the way I lost my wallet and iqama is
inside of it.
After one to two days searching I declared I cannot found it
anymore that’s why I inform already the manager then the company GRO regarding
this.
1. The GRO go to Passport Office to take some documentforms to
be filled up. Filled up all the details of Iqama and the Passport including the
reason of losing the ID and where it lost.
Paste a ID picture to it with the thumbmarks. Then go back
to passport office. A police officers check it then do some encoding in their
database then infoem us to pay at the atm bank.
2. After paying, goback again to passport office to take the
newly printed ID.
That’s the time I got peace of mind after having already
iqama. I even cannot go outside because of this lost.
Its been a lesson for me and being thankful. Always stay
calm and inform your company if this happen.
